MCM Georges Briard 11.5" Square Platter Tray Houndstooth with Gold Gilt Duck Center Gold Accent Bands Bears "Georges Briard" Signature in Gold in Right Lower Corner Georges Briard (May 17, 1917 ? July 30, 2005 New York) was an American designer in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. He is most well known for his signature dishware and glassware - everything from cups and plates to gold plated serving dishes. This retro, unique serving tray/platter from Georges Briard highlights a gold gilt mallard duck in its center, surrounded in a blue, slate grey and gold houndstooth pattern square, accented with a gold band around the outer edge of the houndstooth square. The outer curved edge of the tray has the same houndstooth design, , accented along the edges with gold gilt trim. The houndstooth pattern is reverse decorated with the decorations applied on the bottom of the piece, with the gold gilt decorations on the top side. VERY GOOD CONDITION ~ A few light scratches may be seen on the gold trim and gold duck, but only if you look closely. No nicks, chips, cracks, flea bites, or damage. Measures approx. 11 1/2" square.
