Item description
Vintage original 7 x 9 in. US single-weight glossy photograph from the 1970s made-for-television two-part drama, BREAKING UP IS HARD TO DO, originally broadcast on Sept 5 and 7, 1979 on ABC and directed by Lou Antonio. A group of suddenly single friends seek sun, surf and sex to heal the wounds of their recent divorces. Together, they enjoy wild weekends at a beach house in Malibu, soaking up the singles scene and rediscovering life after marriage.
The image features a great beefcake shot of muscular Frank Scappa (Robert Conrad), shirtless and wearing only a pair of cut-off bluejean shorts, talking with Kate (Molly Cheek). Affixed to the bottom of the verso is the original paper snipe (which describes the image) that folds over to the recto. It is in very fine condition as shown. A great beefcake image with LGBTQ/gay interest.
Provenance: The Hearst Herald Examiner newspaper archive.
