This would work for any height person, even as tall as a 6 ft, IF you mostly hold it at the top 4'', and ONLY IF one intended to use it as a tall cane to aid in walking OR one wanted to hold it as a costume prop. The big knot where the butterfly is inlaid is too wide to hold for long, but it's not uncomfortable to hold there for short periods, since all bumps are sanded smooth so they're not rough. ? There are diamonds in the best hand grip zones, but they don't impede. Instead, the indents make great finger grips and hand guides. ? GIRTH: Hand grip girth is best for a LARGE to XXXL ADULT HAND (determined by what size work or winter glove you wear), as it is now. HOWEVER, we can often make it thinner so it fits your hand better by sanding it down a bit, if you need us to, at no charge. HAS CURVES ??????? This hiking staff has a few curves, making it extra intriguing, but this stick stands straight ''for the most part'' (ie, comes back to center) and works great as a walking stick. SOME DEEP...This stick has a few particularly deep diamonds (although it's difficult to capture the many curves and forms in the photos--but they're there,) so I feel I must mention it. They're beautiful alone, and also perfect for embedding stones or charms into them, if you'd wish. ? SPALTED RAILING: Has highly coveted, unique and rare ? semi_railing effect, where the diamonds become one with the wood and twist and turn the wood due to spalding/spalting. EMBELLISHMENTS ??????? ? A colorful butterfly ? pendant has been artfully embedded into this already amazing piece for a little extra flair. ? Butterfly is 1-7/8" wide and made of some kind of gold colored metal and possibly acrylic, and is full of glittery colors of orange, yellow, blue, red, silver and green. ? I dug a groove into the wood where each point of the butterfly would be attached, then glued it in with super strong epoxy glue. ? I also drilled a couple holes in the body of the butterfly and nailed it in with brass studs, that are secured with epoxy glue, as well. ? For FLAT terrain, or rolling hills and groomed trails, a walking staff should be about 4-6" above the elbow, or a few inches below the shoulder. ? For HILLY terrain, a stick that's shoulder height or even a few inches above the shoulder is often preferred to help when descending. ? Preferences vary, sooo..... ? If you've never had a walking stick, try practicing on a broom stick (while wearing ??walking shoes) to see what height stick feels comfortable first AND where your preferred ?handgrip location would be. ??? Bring it inside when you're not using it, and maybe wipe dirt or water off of it with a dry cloth or damp cloth if needed....when you can. ? Being left outside for a little while every now and then is no big deal. I've had the same stick I use daily for many years, and I leave it out sometimes--just not too often. ? These are made for the outdoors, but the clear poly is not UV tolerant like marine epoxy. ? Should not be left in the sun or extreme heat or cold for days and weeks on end. Otherwise, the same thing will happen to your lovely walking stick that happens to wood furniture left outside in all sorts of weather. ? Just bring it indoors when not in use, and the 5 coats of poly I've put on will help protect your walking stick and help you keep it nice looking and useful for many years.
