In 1191 A Grave was found in Glastonbury, England on the South Side of the Lady Chapel. While digging between two Stone Pyramids in the Abbey Cemetery, Monks uncovered a Hollowed out Log Containing Two Bodies. Just above the Log was a Stone Slab Cover with a Lead Cross attached underneath. Indented on this Cross was the Latin Inscription: Hic Jacet Sepultus Inclytus Rex Arthurus In Insula Avalonia, (Here lies buried in the isle of Avalon the renowned King Arthur, and Guenivere, his 2nd wife). In 1607 A Drawing of King Arthurs Cross appeared in William Camden's Historical Work Britannia. In 1278 the remains were removed in the presence of King Edward I and Queen Eleanor to a Black Marble tomb Inside the Chapel. This tomb survived until the dissolution of the Abbey in 1539. Today A Sign and Grave can still be seen in the Abbey Cemetery to Mark the Original Burial site of King Arthur and his Beloved Queen Guenivere.
