Therese seems calm, completely tranquil. In the larger picture from which this is taken, Therese is with the novices whom she is in charge of, as well as her sisters Pauline and Celine. They are in the inner courtyard at the convent in Lisieux. Celine has taken this photograph. We suspect she has also placed the hour glass prop in Therese's hands. We have restored this photo to a vividness that we hope lets you connect with the Saint. The photo from which this is cropped is known in the archives as #20, which we have also restored and made available elsewhere in our shop.
