This lid hinge provides a connection between the lid and the top panel. It allows for smooth, unhindered opening and closing movements of the lid. Installation involves a few steps. Start by removing the plastic cover from the lid, followed by the removal of the two screws located at the back corners of the lid. Proceed to remove the screws that secure the hinges. If these are stiff due to rust accumulation, a product like WD-40 can be used to loosen them. Once the cover is cleaned, replace the hinges and screws. The only tools required for this process are torx screwdrivers. The hinge wire is compatible with select Whirlpool and Maytag models.
