Antique 1880 Guhl Harbeck's "Original Express" chain stitch Sewing Machine
Made in Germany
Cast iron. No visible breaks. Some paint chipping. Rust spots, due to age. Machine has a nice move needs cleaning and oiling. Comes with original needle.
Base piece has a fainted brand name Guhl Harbeck. Top arch of the machine has its model origonal express which was painted over in black or loss its gold gilt.
Ita being offered for repair and tuning. Being sold as shown. What you see is what you get. Not serviced.
Double wheels are turning nicely, needle head is moving nicely too. No further testing or servicing is done by us.
Guhl Harbeck was established in 1867 in Hamburg.The company produced a wide range of sewing machines many of which were for export.One of Guhl Harbeck's best selling machines was the Original Express chain stitch machine which was sold under many different names.This particular example was named the National Express and was probably made in the 1880's
