Item description
DEATH OF A FAVOURITE GIRL
By Michael [Francis] Gilbert.
London: Hodder and Stoughton, (1980).
First edition, first printing.
"First printing 1980" statement to the copyright page.
A famous TV actress is murdered in her home village of West Hannington, and the CID get pushed aside as Scotland Yard's career ambitious Chief Inspector Knott takes over, looking into secrets, characters, and clues.
Nicely presentable first edition in dust jacket.
Minutely crimped to the front cover's upper shelf-edge, else very nearly fine, firm, and square in burgundy linen boards with gilt embossed titles to the spine; in a very nearly fine dust jacket illustrated by Melvyn Gill, with a hint of rubbing to the lower spine edge; original printed 5.50 net price still intact to the front inner flap.
The dust jacket will be placed in a clear protective, removable sleeve after photographing for this entry.
