Victorian 9K 9 CT Rose Gold Fob Pendant and 25 similar items

An outstanding "Foster Bailey" (F B) 9 Karat Rose gold with shield shaped cartouche circled by a belt buckle design ! A lovely fob consisting of solid 9 Karat gold, hallmarked 9 CT G (for gold) F B for the Rhode Island jewelry maker Foster Bailey. Foster Bailey. is a Providence, RI jeweler and silver smith, in business from 1878 to 1898. Prior to that, the company is under the name White Foster and succeeded by Theodore W. Foster Bros. Based on this information, I'd date this piece to last quarter of 19th century late Victorian period. The shield shaped fob beautifully engraved and pierced, with a crown top, and shield shaped cartouche engraved with the initial WJ. Circling the shield is a nice belt buckle design with a Fleur de lis on the bottom. The workmanship, and details are superb! It measures just a tad over 1-1/2" tall, and over 1" in width, and weighs a substantial, 4.5 grams. It is in excellent antique condition, with minor surface scratches and patina. The engraving is crisp, and clear ... its just lovely! A beautiful example, and fine addition to any antique fob medals collection!
