" Umezawa in Sagami Providence"
one of the 36 views of Mt. Fuji" by Hokusai Katsushika (1760-1849)
A flock of cranes and clouds are suggestive of the traditional method of landscape painting. All is done in indigo and green - a color scheme peculiarly typical of Hokusai. From the color, and the sign and seal, this is believed to be one of the earliest pieces in the series.
