Item description
BStore 30 San Marzano Tomato Determinate Heirloom Non-Gmo Seeds Starter Kits
Many world class chefs consider this to be the world's finest paste tomato. San Marzano may very well be the mother of all paste tomatoes, as it is believed by some tomato aficionados to be the parent of almost all the paste tomatoes bred in the U.S. since the 1920s. This delicious, strong tasting red fruit has thick flesh and few seeds, making it perfect for sauces and salsa. Also great fresh or canned. Story has it that the San Marzano originated in Peru before making its way to the Kingdom of Naples in the 1700's. Here it is thought it was first planted in the area of San Marzano sul Sarno, where it was grown in the rich volcanic soil and shadow of Mount Vesuvius. Resists cracking and holds well both on the vine and in storage. Heavy yields.
