If an event occurs, the battery wakes the Nextbase camera, capable of recording multiple incidents. It's not intended for standalone use like an action cam. Upon removal from direct power, the dash cam enters sleep mode, conserving battery for Intelligent Parking Mode. Adding the hardwire kit extends surveillance using the car?s battery.
