Item description
Venus Flytrap ? Dionaea muscipula
Dionaea muscipula, commonly known as the Venus Flytrap, is one of the most iconic carnivorous plants in the world. Native to a small region of the coastal plains of North and South Carolina, it thrives in nutrient-poor, acidic soils and has evolved to catch insects and spiders as a food source.
Light: Full sun (at least 4?6 hours direct sunlight daily), or strong grow lights if indoors
Water: Distilled, rain, or reverse osmosis water only ? sensitive to minerals
Soil: Nutrient-poor mix (e.g., sphagnum moss + perlite/sand)
Humidity: Moderate to high humidity preferred
Feeding: Can catch its own food outdoors; indoors, feed live or recently killed insects occasionally
