This is a vintage 1950s blue "Kand-Ice" portable canned ice container featuring weathered white advertising text. Can is distressed. Slight dent. Contents full.
They were basically early reusable cold packs: small sealed metal cans filled with a chemical refrigerant that froze faster than water and stayed cold longer. Once frozen, you dropped them into a cooler or lunch box just like modern gel packs.
This item is a 4 3/8" tall vintage flat top can from KAND ICE in Nampa, Idaho, dating back to the early 1960s or 1950s. The graphics on the can are a collectible piece of breweriana, showcasing the brand's logo and theme.
