Item description
LIVE AND LET DIE
by Ian Fleming
Facsimile dust jacket for the first UK edition of LIVE AND LET DIE, published in 1954. The 2nd James Bond novel of the 14 original titles written by Ian Fleming.
The scarcest of all the Ian Fleming James Bond dust jackets.
This is a professionally rendered facsimile dust jacket, not price-clipped, to fit the first UK edition of this book. The dust jacket is printed on archival paper, with pigment inks and enclosed in a crystal clear Mylar dust jacket protector, trimmed and pre-folded to fit your book. This jacket should also be able, or closely fit, the second, and third editions of the book by the same publisher, Jonathan Cape. You can email me if you have doubts about size. If you have a later printing of the book, and the measurements are similar or not similar, you can email me and I will make the attempt to have the jacket fit your book, which is usually always successful, to customize it for your later printing. This service is at no additional charge.
These jackets are NEVER mass produced-and produced one at a time by myself-and are extremely labor intensive to get the colors to match as closely as possible to the original, trim and fit and inspect the final product for flaws in printing. They are done by myself, out of love, for books and classic artwork and to promote the book jackets as works of art
The rear flap of the dust jacket, as shown in the thumbnail photo, is marked "Facsimile Dust Jacket" and with my monogram "JAM" (indicates a quality product from the John Anthony Miller Graphic Studio), and to prevent this being sold as an original jacket. I have done this in a way as to not interfere with the aesthetics of the book jacket art. I am trying to preserve the beauty of the original art, yet not let this be passed off as an original dust jacket, so I am careful where I place my wording. To 'cut out' my monogram and words stating it is facsimile would ruin the jacket.
On the reverse of the jacket there is also a fixed label, signed by the artist, indicating that it is a facsimile dust jacket. Removal of the label would destroy the jacket, but it is not seen from the front.
Miller's jacket work is now being collected own its merit, as people are considering these older dust jackets as works of art, especially when associated older pre-1965 classic works such as this one is. Thank you, John Anthony Miller, Artist and Book man.

Thank you very much for you kind response to my facsimile dust jackets. These are made one by one by hand with great care. They will never be mass produced, and are made for reader and collector alike. I have received many positive comments about my work in making and printing these facsimile jackets. Here is one of them:
"John's unique artistry was evident as soon as I saw The Great Gatsby dust jacket. Having seen scores of facsimile jackets, John's work is in a completely different league. The rich tonal quality of the colors is breathtaking and the weight of the paper is carefully considered. He satisfied the needs of the most demanding client, even during a personally trying time. I look forward to doing continued business with him in the future and give him my highest recommendation." Ryan Dohm, Profiles in History
I am primarily an artist and take great care in the quality of my work. A number of you are buying my signed facsimile dust jackets and framing them. If you wish me to send a jacket to you unfolded, please let me know. Thank you, John Anthony Miller.
