Antique Oak Rocking Chair Pressed Back With Spindles Cane Seat Local Pick Up Only This is a wonderful turn of the century antique oak rocking chair with a pressed back floral pattern. There are seven decorative turned spindles on the back, four on each side of arms, and two on the front legs. The side and back spindle joining the legs are not turned. The overall measurements are approx. 39 1/2" high x 24" wide x27 7/8” deep incl. runners. The seat to floor is approx.15 1/2". The seat front to back is approx. 18 1/2". The original finish has a nice warm patina that highlights the nice oak grain on the rocking chair. When I purchased the rocker, the cane seat had just been redone - that was 37 years ago and is still nice and tight and does not sag at all. A couple of the screws are newer. There is a repair on the corner of the seat and the arm which you can see in the pictures. It has normal wear consistent with its vintage age and use. The rocking chair is sturdy and in great vintage aged condition. Would make a nice accent piece with a throw over the back or use in a baby’s room.
