Item description
The Last Day by Helen Clarkson 1st Edition Dusk Jacket
The Last Day by Helen Clarkson, A Novel of the Day After Tomorrow. One of the more highly respected fictional attempts from the end of the 1950's to imagine the dire consequences of a nuclear exchange, and its threat to humanity. This is a very fine copy, complete with no damage. Dark blue binders with red lettering on spine. Slight fading along edges of covers. Dust jacket in very fine condition, because it and the book has been in a plastic slip cover for decades. The pages on the bottom edge are stamped 'LIBRARY COPY', but there are no bookplates or markings on the interior first pages including cover and publishing info page. Torquil Book, Dodd, Meade and Company, 1959. LOC 59-14322.
Lot ID: lstday-20130605.
