Item description
This is a vintage 8x10 in. U.S. single-weight glossy copy photograph (not a vintage original photo printed at the time it was taken) from the lavishly-mounted silent film costume drama/romance, MONSIEUR BEAUCAIRE, released in 1924 by Paramount Pictures and directed by Sidney Olcott. The film stars Rudolph Valentino as the Duke de Chartres/ Monsieur Beaucaire.
The image features a beautiful interior close shot of the handsome Duke de Chartres (Rudolph Valentino) as he holds a rose given to him by the beautiful lady Mary (Doris Kenyon) as the young couple gaze at each other. The exquisite period French costumes that were created by Paramount's costume department are seen to full advantage in this shot. Printed on single-weight stock with a glossy finish, most likely in the 1950's, this vintage copy photograph is in very fine+ condition without any pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws. The image quality is sharp with fine detail and nice contrast.
