Vintage 8x10 in. US double-weight matte copy photograph (not a vintage original photograph printed at the time it was taken) from the
classic silent film horror drama/romance, THE
UNKNOWN, released in 1927 by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and directed by Tod Browning. A criminal on the run (Lon
Chaney) hides in a circus and seeks to possess the beautiful daughter (Joan
Crawford) of the ringmaster at any cost.
The image features a close interior shot of circus performers Alonzo (Lon Chaney), an armless knife-thrower in the circus, and Nanon (Joan Crawford), as she enjoys a happy moment. Printed on double-weight stock with a beautiful matte finish, most likely in the 1950's, this vintage copy photograph is in very fine condition+ without any pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws. The image quality is very sharp with fine detail and nice contrast.
