I love Shimano brakes and will be using these on a hardtail build this winter.
Purchased Shimano Brake Set on Bonanza
I chose Shimano XTR because they have better modulation than Saint, which is also an excellent choice. The Hayes Prime Pros failed after an OTB crash and no new parts were available. I built my sons bikes with Saints, but, wanted a similar feel on my SC Blur, so, I went with XTR. Very happy with the modulation and power they have. Had to modify the 9 Speed Deore shifter to fit around the ispec mount. Works great!
