Vintage original 11x14 in. US lobby card from the classic 1980's horror/mystery thriller, FRIDAY THE 13TH, released in 1980 by Paramount Pictures and directed by Sean S. Cunningham. In 1957, a young boy named Jason drowns in a lake near Camp Crystal Lake. The next year, two counselors are murdered. In 1980, a descendant of the original owners reopens Camp Crystal Lake with some counselors' help. The counselors gets killed one by one by a mysterious person. Could it be Jason, out for revenge? The cast includes Betsy Palmer, Adrienne King, Jeannine Taylor, Robbi Morgan, Kevin Bacon, Harry Crosby, Laurie Bartram, and Mark Nelson. As indicated in the left half of the bottom border, this is lobby card (or scene card) #8 from the set of 8 cards. The image features an exterior close shot on the banks of Camp Crystal Lake as counselors Bill (Harry Crosby) and Alice (Adrienne King) relax on the sand during one of the film's less intense moments. It is unrestored in fine+ condition with light signs of wear on the corners and some type of stains in the bottom right corner (one of which is on Miss King's hand) which bled through to the back. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws and the rich color tints are fresh and vibrant without any signs of fading. Friday the 13th made $39,754,601 on a budget of $550,000. Tom Savini was one of the first crew members on board for the film because the producers idolized his special make-up effects in Dawn of the Dead (1978). The movie was filmed at Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco in New Jersey. The camp is still in operation, and it has a wall of Friday the 13th (1980) memorabilia to honor that the movie was set there. Most of the location and set were already there. The crew only had to build the bathroom set.
