Vintage original 8x10 in. US single-weight glossy photograph from the classic 1950's "giant bug" sci-fi horror thriller, THE DEADLY MANTIS, released in 1957 by Universal-International Pictures and directed by Nathan Juran. A giant prehistoric praying mantis, recently freed from the Arctic ice, voraciously preys on American military at the DEW Line and works its way south. The image features a scene of policemen, civilians, and an ambulance attendant as they stand in an area of destruction by the giant mantis. It is in fine- condition with two pinholes in each corner; several creases in the right border that go into the background area; and some small scattered creases in the image area simply from handling over time.
