Vintage original 22 x 28 in. US half-sheet poster from the classic 1960's WWII-themed war comedy, WAR ITALIAN STYLE, released in 1965 by American International Pictures (AIP) and directed by Luigi Scattini. In May 1943, two American soldiers, Joe (Ciccio Ingrassia) and Frank (Franco Franchi), of Italian descent are searching the North African desert for a German general called Von Kassler (Buster Keaton), when they are captured by Von Kassler aide Inge Schultze (Martha Hyer), who lets them escape with fake war plans; However, Joe and Frank steal the real war plans, which pave way for the Allied victory. Months later, the duo once again come up against Von Kassler when they are captured at Anzio and try to outwit the Nazis a second time. The cast includes Fred Clark, Franco Ressel, Tomasso Alvieri, Barbara Loy, and Alessandro Sperli. The design features artwork that is dominated by a huge image of German General Von Kassler (Buster Keaton) holding a bomb and a girl, respectively, as he towers over his soldiers and the Allies. This example was never used and it is rolled as originally issued in very fine- condition with light signs of wear on the bottom edge at the left corner. There are a few small scattered creases, simply from handling over time. The color tints are fresh and vibrant without any signs of fading and this 50+ year-old poster is in great unrestored condition.
