History The Pied Piper was first recorded in the history of Hamelin, Lower Saxony, Germany. He was rumored to wear a multicolored outfit and use a magical pipe to lure rats out of villages. Among the early depictions of the Pied Piper was actually in artwork within a glass window in Marktkirche in Hamelin.
