It is made from 18K GOLD and it is stamped 18k and 750 on the back. The pendant displays a relief of the BLESSED VIRGIN MARY and it is FINELY DETAILED with BLUE TURQUOISE PLIQUE-A-JOUR TRANSLUCENT ENAMEL. Plique-a-jour (French for "letting in daylight") is a vitreous enameling technique where the enamel is applied in cells and has no backing so light can shine through the translucent enamel. It is like a miniature version of stained glass that is very technically challenging and time consuming with a high failure rate. The pendant measures just over 3/4" in diameter by 1-1/16" long, including the bale. The total weight is a solid feeling 5.6 grams and the back of the pendant is not engraved.
