Item description

Balancing the Christian Life: Biblical Principles for Wholesome Living by Charles Caldwell Ryrie (1969 Trade Paperback) ? Author: Charles Caldwell Ryrie (1925?2016) ? Publisher: Moody Press Chicago IL U.S.A. 1969 Genuine and wholesome spirituality is the goal of all Christian living. It sounds so simple, doesn't it? Perhaps the principle may be, but living by the principle is another matter altogether. In Balancing the Christian Life, Charles Ryrie reminds you that "the Bible must be the guide and test for all our experiences in the spiritual life ...and if any experience fails to pass that test, it must be discarded." He warns that "an unbalanced application of the doctrines related to spirituality will result in an unbalanced Christian life.? Ryrie examines numerous key issues of spirituality, including: The old and the new life Sanctification, Using your gifts, Routine faithfulness, Wiles of the Devil, Temptation, Confessing, and Forgiving. For more than 50 years, Balancing the Christian Life has been changing lives worldwide. Take time to read this classic study--and allow it to change your life. Charles Caldwell Ryrie (1925?2016) was an American Bible scholar and Christian theologian. He served as professor of systematic theology and dean of doctoral studies at Dallas Theological Seminary and as president and professor at what is now Cairn University. Always privately owned with no ownership markings. Interior is tight, clean and unmarked. Paperback cover has no creases in spine, but there is a reading crease in front cover. Seldom (if ever) read, never studied. ? Size: 8vo ? over 7 - 9? tall, 192pp. ? Condition: Near Fine (As New) Trade Paperback. No ownership markings always privately owned. Copyright 1969. Printed in U.S.A. Stated ?Over 200,000 sold,? with print-line indicating this copy is from 34th printing, this copy may have the same content as the 1st Edition, it is not a 1st Edition. ISBN: 0-8024-0452-9. No LCCN nor MSR. Notes on Condition/Edition ratings: Fine ? means like new, but any book produced over 10 years ago isn't ?brand new? or even ?new.? Using the same term as coin collectors, ?can?t guarantee it is uncirculated, but it looks very much like it could be.? Booksellers need similar grading to describe this... Like New ? A new book, no marks no damage (except maybe remainder marks or shelf-wear) except not obtained directly from the publisher or in packaging from the publisher. Same sort of thing about grading as Fine above except generally used for newer publication dates with title still in print. Good ? How someone else might take care of a book. Also referred to as ?standard.? This is the most likely condition for books of this age title, shows the book has been read or previously owned. Acceptable ? How a young child, student or a librarian might take care of a book. (Either trying to make sure someone doesn't steal it by plastering ownership everywhere, filled it with copious notes or a book that has been damaged.) Poor ? Combination of ?acceptable? factors above. Most likely with water damage as well. Might have missing pages (you should ask). Usually requires repair to be usable. Near ? Means ?almost? in an optimistic sense. e.g., ?Near Fine? means very good, but on the high end. 1st Thus ? Unique somehow, maybe 1st paperback, new illustrator, misprint or even the 1st edition. A collector might desire this copy for their collection. Thanks for looking!
