Item description

This beautiful beaker vase was manufactured by De Porceleyne Fles in 1962 and features stunning blue floral patterns. The vase is made of porcelain and Delft earthenware, and is handmade in the Delft production style. It is signed by the Delft artist E. Sp. and has an octagonal ribbed design, making it both decorative and unique. The vase is 7 5/8" tall and 2 7/8" wide at the bottom, with a glossy finish and hand-painted details. It is an original, licensed reproduction of True Delft Pottery and is considered a vintage item from the early 20th century. This Royal Delft product line item is perfect for collectors and those who appreciate the beauty of Dutch pottery. MARK - underglaze blue current logo mark of a stylized jug with a J T superimposed on each other and a cursive "Delft" C.G. = date code: 1962 E.Sp.= painter's initials 1051 = internal control code A genuine Royal Delft piece can be recognized by the hand painted signature on the bottom of the item: the initials JT, the pharmacy bottle and the work "Delft". To find out more about this and a list of date and artist codes, please visit the Royaldelft website DE PORCELEYNE FLES INFO: 1653 - Present De Porceleyne Fles has been in continuous existence since 1653 and is considered creme de la creme of Delft production. One reason for their continued success is their wares are hand painted. Joost Thooft and partner Labouchere bought the firm in 1876. Fles pieces are sought after collectibles and the larger the item, the more detailed, the more expensive! Modern production of large pieces and tile tableaus are priced in the thousands of dollars! Of the ca. 32 pottery bakeries, Royal Delft is the only remaining factory in Delft. Only the item/items in the title of the listings are being sold Notice Regarding Vintage Items: I specialize in vintage items that are usually 50+ years old. It is important that you examine this item carefully before bidding. I welcome all the questions. While I try hard to get my description accurate, you must look at the pictures and remember that vintage is NOT new or mint. Unless otherwise stated, items WILL have age related wear. These are usually items that are no longer manufactured or available by retail. I buy at estate auctions, yard sales, and antique stores, and I surface clean most but not all of my items. I try to describe my items the best I can. There is no intentional misleading information in my listings, but there may be a mistake or something missed occasionally due to human error. I do not smoke, however the previous owner(s) might have. If you buy or collect vintage, you must know that the items come from an era when the vast majority of Americans did smoke. Most of my customers want items in their authentic condition, which shows wear and proves age, so I leave any deep cleaning to the buyer's discretion. My items are sold in "as is" condition. I try to highlight any flaws over and above normal wear and tear, but again, you must look at the pictures and please feel free to ask questions
