HOUSE OF DEATH AND GATE OF HELL Compiled by Ex-Romanist L. J. King Protestant Book House, First Issue, 1928 Condition: Good King,the author/compiler of this book, was also the founder of the "Protestant Book House" and editor of the annually published THE CONVERTED CATHOLIC. Quoting from the title page, this book is "An Exposure of Rome's Convent Prison System, with Photographs and Testimonials of Convicts made Free Through the Gospel of Jesus Christ". As one can surmise, King was a radical anti-Catholic of his day. 113 pages, with many photos and some drawings. Front cover fading of gilt printing, bottom front cover corners bumped, otherwise only light exterior wear. Gutter tears near front and back of book -- webbing is holding; one photo plate with blank backing is loose, all other pages are attached. There is also staining and moisture waving on some pages. No dust jacket (as issued?). Still, this is a scarce book.
