ART DECO LALIQUE 'GANYMEDE' CHAMPAGNE ICE BUCKET This listing is for the beautifully detailed champagne / wine ice bucket shown in the photos and it is SIGNED LALIQUE FRANCE. This FROSTED and MOLDED CRYSTAL ice bucket was designed by Marc Lalique during the 1950s and was in production during the 1980s. The design features DANCING NUDES in celebration of the grape harvest. The name Ganymede is after the mythological youth who was kidnapped by Zeus who eventually went on to serve as his cupbearer. The bucket measures 9" high with an overall width of 10" (handle to handle). The bucket has a traditional flared body with the top measuring 7-9/16" in diameter and the base measuring 6-1/8" in diameter. This bucket is HEAVY weighing 14 lbs 7.6 oz. and it has two thick stubby handles. This ice bucket is in excellent condition with no chips or flaws and I have personally owned it for the past 25 years.
