Ludovisi Ares and Eros God Mars Greek Cast Marble Statue Sculpture 8.26 inches Our sculpture is a copy (in smaller scale) of the famous marble statue known as «Ludovisi Ares», which is exhibited in the Palazzo Altemps, Rome. The Ludovisi Ares is an Antonine Roman marble sculpture of Mars, a fine 2nd-century copy of a late 4th-century BCE Greek original, associated with Scopas or Lysippus: thus, the Roman god of war receives his Greek name, Ares. Ares/Mars is portrayed as young and beardless and seated on a trophy of arms, while an Eros plays about his feet, drawing attention to the fact that the god of war, in a moment of repose, is presented as a love object. The mixture is then poured into a mold of the statue design. Because the powder is so fine the smallest details can be reproduced using this method. Over 90% of the finished sculpture is natural crushed Greek Marble stone, which gives it a look and feel of solid natural marble. All sculptures are finished by hand to ensure the finest quality. This strong material is water and weather resistant, doesn't have bubbles, will not crack, and can be washed with most cleaning agents. Please note: Our statues are not carved. Express Delivery (1-3 business days) - For an additional charge available only for EUROPE buyers. RETURN POLICIES Our return policy is 14 days return or exchange. All returns must include all original items, original packaging, undamaged, unused and in re-saleable condition. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs. Shipping and handling fees are absolutely non-refundable. If 14 days have gone by since the delivery of your purchase, unfortunately we can?t offer you a refund or exchange.
