No perfume bottle or Lalique collection would be complete without this magnificent bottle....It is VERY large and VERY heavy! The body of the apple is frosted, satin glass while the textured stem and foliage are primarily transparent with the exception of the etched lines of the foliage and realistic etched detailing to create the shape of the branch-like stem.  The bulbous shape of the fruit has realistic curvatures throughout. When you run your hand along the fruit you can feel the asymmetry that mimics the realistic organic form of the apple. This curvature is more visibly evident at the top where the fruit curves inward and dips downward surrounding the stem. Although this piece is stunning in any setting, its beauty is dramatically intensified with a nearby light source. The interplay of the satin-finished and transparent crystal seemingly illuminates on its own when it is placed near a direct light source. As collectors of Lalique know, this is one of the characteristics that make Lalique art glass so desirable. The underside of the base reveals, the Lalique, France etched signature with the encircled "R" for registered trademark in between the two words. The underside of the base is translucent and you can peer into the interior of the piece.
