In Russian. Short description: New Releases in Children's Literature No. 72" by Lev Kassil, "Early Sunrise: A Tale of a Young Artist." Moscow, 1955. Lev Abramovich Kassil (June 27 [July 10], 1905 ? June 21, 1970) was a Russian Soviet writer and screenwriter. He was a Corresponding Member of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of the USSR (1965) and a laureate of the Stalin Prize of the third degree (1951). This tale tells the story of the life and artistic endeavors of a talented young artist, Kolya Dmitriev, a Moscow Pioneer.
