The Rotor Position Sensor is an OEM part for LG washing machines. This sensor monitors the speed and direction that the washing machine tub is spinning. It ensures the tub rotates properly in both clockwise and counterclockwise motions during cycles.
Causes of a bad rotor position sensor can include wear and tear from extended use agitating heavy loads, breakage from impact or moisture damage, or compromised wiring over time.
Symptoms of a bad rotor position sensor include:
Tub failing to spin or agitate clothes during cycles
Inability to detect spin cycle direction changes
Repeated errors messages related to tub operation
Long cycle times as the sensor cannot monitor load movement
