Item description

Box is in good shape, it has a few minor endentations on the front right and left edges. This title is Out Of Print (OOP) and no longer being manufactured in any format. Cassette is nice and clean with a narrow, dry sticker stain below the title label. Pre-viewed for quality on my Emerson deck and had some pops and crackles on the soundtrack in the first 5-10 minutes, but the picture always looks good. Played fine other than this minor hiccup. This film is similar in themes posed in 'Gothic', 'Haunted Summer', and 'Frankenstein Unbound'. The story behind Mary Shelley's (Lizzy McInnerny) writing of "Frankenstein", amidst the decadence of her elopement with Percy B.'s (Valentine Pelka) 1816 Swiss sojourn with Lord Byron (Grant). Elizabeth Hurley has the relatively small role of Claire, Mary's half-sister and Byron's former lover. A glossy death-haunted romantic melodrama, with Frankenstein's monster popping up throughout as a reminder of mortality; a few startling images, such as a meeting between a giraffe and a cardinal in a Venetian palace, spice the familiar story.
