Offered for your consideration is this very handsome brooch or pin from 1900s. It is a rather large piece, measure 2 3/4 X 1 1/2 inches including the dangles and a hefty weight at 14 grams. It is beautifully arranged with colorful opals and tiny seed pearls. Opals have nice flash and are crystal variety with brush stroke file. In good condition, no missing stones. Very lovely mold cast and hand constructed piece. Possibly American origin. You can tell it is different than those flimsy English jewelry from the same period. The back pin and pendant bail can be a later add but integrated well with the original piece. There are no marks on the back, but it has been carefully tested as solid 14K yellow gold.
