Item description

When ordering from the US, parcels may be subject to import tax and duty charges, which the buyer is responsible to pay. This is a vintage original 8x10 in. US double-weight matte on-set gag photograph from the classic 1930's action/adventure romance, TARZAN THE APE MAN, released in 1932 by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) and directed by W.S. Van Dyke. Based upon the famous novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, a trader (C. Aubrey Smith) and his daughter (Maureen O'Sullivan) set off in search of the fabled graveyard of the elephants in deepest Africa, only to encounter a wild man raised by apes (Johnny Weissmuller). The image features a great exterior on-set gag photograph depicting star Johnny Weissmuller as Tarzan, seen wearing only a loincloth, as he holds a baby zebra while it is being fed from a large bottle by co-star Maureen O'Sullivan. Affixed to the verso is the original paper snipe caption that describes the image. Printed on double-weight stock with a beautiful matte finish, this vintage original photograph is in very fine condition with a light 1 in. vertical crease in the bottom of the left border with signs of wear on the bottom corner. The image quality is very sharp with fine detail and great contrast. Object Type Photograph Modified Item No Industry Movies Film Title Tarzan the Ape Man Director W.S.
