Vintage 60's CARO-NAN "St. Croix" Basket Bag. Caro-Nan purses were custom made by Carolyn McDaniel and Nancy Steele in Jackson Mississippi from the late ?50s to the mid ?70s. Many of the bags featured building scenes like the one here. Each building scene had buildings with the different names of local places. This bag was made on the island of St. Croix. Typically these basket bags had pennies glued to the top of the bag. This bag lost its penny over the years but still has lots of character left!
