Drawing on her experience as a secondary art teacher, Carlsbad artist Gerri Mattson gave herself an assignment. She made a list of words that related to horses, and then began to sketch out corresponding ideas. The word "Stud" prompted an association with poker, which led to a horse fancifully adorned with gaming, casino, and lottery images. TOPP more info: Each edition is 10,000 ponies. (1E, 2E, etc) Five Card Stud had 51,533 total ponies minted (5 editions).. But he is one of only 12 ponies in the very first offering by Trail of Painted Ponies #1 Herd ) and he's in his original Black Box which is a premium. They produce editions or partial editions as long as they sell. Some ponies have 1 edition some have as many as 15. Make sure to keep all the materials for STUD... his box, styrofoam, story tags.. because they are valuable.
