Vintage Ribbed Green Pottery Planter Marked 907 U.S.A. - Possible Ungemach This Vintage Oval Footed Green Planter marked 907 USA is possibly a McCoy or a Ungemach ?? I found this at an estate sale with other similar planters that had the McCoy or UPCO mark. This planter does not have either manufactures mark just the number 907 and USA on the bottom of the planter. It is green oval footed planter measuring 7 3/4 inches long by 5 1/4 inches wide and stands 2 3/4 inches tall. This planter is in VERY GOOD to EXCELLENT condition !!! I believe this is an unmarked Ungemach ...... About Ungemach Pottery (UPCO) UPCO / Ungemach Pottery Company was located in Roseville, Ohio. Not to be confused with Roseville Pottery Co. There were several potters located in the Roseville Ohio area. For instance, Robinson Ransbottom. UPCO was just one of the potters located in Roseville, Ohio. UPCO was founded by Fred Ungemach in 1937 and they were in business until 1984. When he first began the business he called it SOUTH FORK POTTERY, but later, in 1942, he changed it's name to "Ungemach Pottery Company". One interesting fact is that he began his business in the remnants of the old building that was once National Pottery Company. More buildings were added to his business as it grew. UPCO made mostly garden items, floral items, and other decorative pottery. Another interesting fact, During WWII, UPCO made planters for Walt Disney. These are especially collectible.
