Item description
Vintage original 8x10 in. US single-weight glossy photograph from the classic 1950's WWII-themed P.O.W.-themed comedy/drama, STALAG 17, released in 1953 by Paramount Pictures and directed by Billy Wilder. Based upon the play by Donald Bevan, when two escaping American World War II prisoners are killed, the German P.O.W. camp barracks black marketeer, J.J. Sefton (William Holden), is suspected of being an informer. The cast includes Don Taylor, Otto Preminger, Robert Strauss, Harvey Lembeck, Richard Erdman, Peter Graves, Neville Brand, and Sig Ruman.
Printed for the film's 1959 US theatrical re-release by Paramount Pictures, the image features an interior publicity shot of black marketeer J.J. Sefton (William Holden) looking angry as he holds a shovel at-the-ready. It is in fine+ condition with a light 1.5 in. horizontal crease beneath the center of the top border and a few small scattered creases that are unobtrusive. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, writing, or other flaws.
William Holden won the Academy Award for "Best Actor in a Leading Role" for his portrayal in this film.
