Vintage original 11x14 in. US lobby card from the 1960's horror/sci-fi thriller, KONGA, released in 1961 by American International Pictures (AIP) and directed by John Lemont. Dr. Decker comes back from Africa after a year, presumed dead. During that year, he came across a way of growing plants and animals to an enormous size and brings back a baby chimpanzee to test out his theory. As he has many enemies at home, he decides to use his chimp, 'Konga' to "get rid of them." However, Konga grows to gigantic proportions and wreaks havoc all over the city of London! As indicated in the center of the bottom border, this is lobby card #4 from the set of 8 cards. The image features an exterior scene outside of a college and depicts Dr. Charles Decker (Michael Gough) as he flirts with a pretty co-ed (Claire Gordon) while her boyfriend (Jess Conrad) looks displeased. The border artwork depicts a huge, enraged Konga destroying the city of London. It is unrestored in fine condition with a small water stain on the bottom left corner; random signs of wear on the corners and inside the borders; and some small surface creases, simply from handling over time.
