Item description
Vintage original 8 x 10 in. US single-weight glossy photograph from the 1920's WWI-themed war comedy, FINDERS KEEPERS, released in 1928 by Universal Pictures and directed by Wesley Ruggles and Otis Thayer.
The image features an exterior close shot of Barbara Hastings (Laura LaPlante), wearing an American soldier's uniform, with her father, Col. Hastings (Edmund Breese), as they hold each other. It is in near-fine condition with a light curl along the top and bottom edges.
Barbara Hastings, a colonel's daughter, falls in love with Carter Brooks, one of the soldiers in her father's training camp. On the day that the two decide to get married, the regiment is ordered overseas. Unable to get into camp as a civilian, but determined to be near Carter, Barbara dresses in a soldier's uniform and joins the ranks. Her father perceives her disguise but gives the couple permission to be married by the Army chaplain before the troop train leaves. However, Barbara arrives late and has to run to catch the train. She manages to get on the rear car, but falls off before the wedding ceremony is completed. When Carter returns from Europe the Chaplain asks the couple where they left off in the ceremony, and Barbara says "the part where he promises to obey," and the wedding continues.
