FOUR GREAT TRAGEDIES
by William Shakespeare
Pocket Book #532, 1st pr., Aug. 1948

These two volumes contain most of Shakespeare's best plays (excepting the histories). FIVE GREAT COMEDIES has "As You Like It", "A Midsummer Night's Dream", "The Merchant of Venice", "Twelfth Night" and "The Tempest". The FOUR GREAT TRAGEDIES are "Hamlet", "Romeo Juliet", "Julius Caesar" and "Macbeth". There are also introductions by John Masefield and Mark Van Doren, resumes of each play and glossaries explaining all unusual words and terms. These books provide a great introduction to the Bard.
