Item description
Vintage original 8 x 10 in. US single-weight glossy photograph from the classic 1970s break-out-of-prison-themed drama, ESCAPE FROM ALCATRAZ, released in 1979 by Paramount Pictures and directed by Don Siegel. Alcatraz is the most secure prison of its time. It is believed that no one can ever escape from it, until three daring men make a possibly successful attempt at escaping from one of the most infamous prisons in the world.
The image depicts an exterior action shot of prison inmate Frank Norris (Clint Eastwood) as he is attacked in the prison yard by Bruce M. Fisher wielding a shiv. Affixed to the bottom of the verso (which has subquently come loose) is the original paper snipe that folds over to the recto and describes the image. It is in very fine condition as shown.
Provenance: The Hearst Herald Examiner newspaper archive.
