Item description
Vintage original 27x41 in. US one-sheet poster from the 1960's dramatic biopic, THE LEGEND OF CUSTER, released in 1968 by 20th Century-Fox and co-directed by Norman Foster and Sam Wanamaker. Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer (Wayne Maunder) has been reinstated and assigned to command
the 7th Cavalry Regiment at Fort Hays. The regiment has become a ragtag outfit
of thieves and ruffians and Custer must whip the soldiers into shape to fight,
the Kiowa, Sioux and Blackfoot tribes who confront them. These tribes are being
supplied shotguns by a white gunrunner and Custer and his men must rescue
General Terry (Robert F. Simon) and the Fifth Cavalry Regiment from annihilation when they are
ambushed and trapped by a large Kiowa war party.
Folded as originally issued, this vintage original one-sheet poster is unrestored in very fine- condition with a light 1.75 in. diagonal crease on each corner and at the end of each fold line. There is a very small bit of separation at the crossfolds and a small nick on the right border.
This was the final film in the career of actor Robert F. Simon.
